* conceptualize and implement graphic design campaign for FOLKS first annual calendar
* produce camera ready art for 36 page calendar (using InDesign software)
* organize and maintain content for 36 page calendar
* adhere to deadlines
* prepare complete calendar file for printing
* proof all work
* accept constructive feedback from and be responsive to project manager
* behave in professional manner

Job Description


FOLKS is looking to hire a talented graphic designer for a summer internship. Primary duty will be to create a camera-ready 4/c 36-page calendar. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: creating vendor ads, placing photographs, designing content pages, generating grid page layouts, producing print-ready file and coordinating file transfer with printer. Intern will work a minimum of 10 hours per week. Telecommuting likely.


Job Outcome


While working for college credit, this FOLKS intern will not only complete the internship with a fabulous portfolio piece, the student selected for this position will gain invaluable experience working for a high-visibility, local non-profit organization. Individual will have the opportunity to attend strategic meetings and present concept/design to park officials. Student will hone his/ her organizational and problem-solving skills while expanding creative thinking. In addition to creating the overall concept and individual page layouts, student will gain proficiency in minor editing and proofreading. Student will have exposure to budgeting, printing, project management and organizational processes. Furthermore, student will gain firsthand experience coordinating a print project from concept through to completion.
