Grace Place Nonprofit Communication Internship

About Grace Place for Children and Families

Grace Place for Children and Families is a nonprofit education center committed to putting faith into action, providing pathways out of poverty by educating children and families.

Working with entire families, Grace Place currently enrolls over 900 individuals in its three education programs. Our nationally recognized Bright Beginnings family literacy program serves preschool children and their parents. School Age programs provide afterschool and college access programming to youth.

Grace Place’s Adult Education program offers English language, literacy, computer literacy, and citizenship courses. Helping families throughout Collier County combat food insecurity, the Friday Food Pantry at Grace Place serves over 220 families each week.

Grace Place works extensively with community partners to provide medical and mental health screenings, referrals for other services, and financial literacy classes to the Golden Gate community.

Grace Place offers many volunteer opportunities in its literacy programs, mentoring, adult education and other areas.

Visit www.graceplacenaples.org to learn more.

The student can expect to learn how to think about communication on a branding level – how to take our organization’s needs, values, and voice into account in all communications. They will learn how to apply the strategies and best practices they are learning in class in a real-world setting, and how to modify those methods when needed. This student will also have the opportunity to learn about the inner workings of a nonprofit organization.

I am mostly looking for help with writing – stories for newsletters, blog posts, press releases, and social media posts. We are a nonprofit and there are so many great stories to write about our students…I just don’t have the time! If the student is interested, there would also be an opportunity for graphic design work and website management.

To apply, they can send a resume and letter of interest to me via email at ashlea@graceplacenaples.org . No phone calls please.

The internship would start in the fall.

Is there anything else you need?

Thank you,
Ashlea

Florida Elks Youth Camp Counselor Internship

Are you looking for an internship where you can develop your public speaking skills in a real life environment?  One where you can develop your inter/intrapersonal communication skills? Perhaps you’re looking to build your patience.  Maybe you’re looking to detox from your phone and other electronics.  Maybe you struggle with being creative and want to unlock another side of yourself.

Maybe it’s something completely different, but whatever it is you’d be hard pressed to not find it here at the Florida Elks Youth Camp.  FEYC  isn’t your typical youth camp.  Here at FEYC we empower our staff to handle any issue that may arise in our campers.  You’ll receive guidance and support from the staff above you, but in the end our goal is to teach you how to handle anything thrown your way with the assistance of your Counselor-In-Training.

If you go to feyc.org and click Counselors you’ll be able to watch a short video describing our mission here at FEYC.

This internship pays $300 a week for 8-weeks.  You’ll be fed three meals and a snack every day.  You’ll be staying in a cabin with 7 campers and one other staff member.

All we require from our staff is an 8-week commitment and the desire to help kids become people we’d be proud to have as adults.  We also require our staff to be comfortably uncomfortable with being weird and silly; no one is too cool for  school.

Scholarships are available, up to $5,000 a year after working two years at camp.

I look forward to seeing your application at feyc.org.  If you have any questions please reach out to Elliott Gilbert at

Cheers,
