Eva's Closet Communication/PR Internship


The internship opportunity at Eva's Closet consists of assisting our clients in obtaining support and needed items. Eva's Closet & Foundation provides necessities and essential items to families, schools, and children in need with grace, honor and respect at no cost.


Interns will learn how to work with and provide assistance to a diverse client population. Interns assist with pick up, sorting and organizing of donations. Additionally, interns aid with development and maintenance of website, assist with maintaining of social media posts and development of flyers for events.

Interns develop skills related to fundraising activities and planning and aid in managing fundraising events. Interns must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as possess strong computer/social media skills. Collier Child Care Resources Communication Internship


 
Position: Public Relations & Marketing Intern


Location: Administration Office, 2335 Tamiami Trail N, Suite 504, Naples, FL 34103
Hours: Spring Semester (flexible hours. Preferably 25-30 hours per week)
Compensation: $9 per hour
Description:  Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communication, the intern will observe and assist with various fundraising, networking and workshop events and marketing activities.


General Responsibilities: 

• Help with social media
• Assist with press releases, media alerts and media contact lists
• Position will shadow development department staff, offer input into projects, will be invited to meetings, and may be asked to assist other departments
• Assist with and post website content, social media posts and blog posts
• Implementation of marketing plans and strategies
• Assisting in communications around events
• Help with onsite event management and set-up
• Data entry

Required Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Strong interest in marketing, public relations
• Interest in early childhood education or nonprofit communication a plus.
• Ability to work independently and juggle multiple tasks at once.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to take initiative and perform follow up.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Possess a friendly, outgoing personality
• Strong interpersonal, verbal (including phone work) and written communication skills, writing sample is required
• Basic computer processing skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, and social media
• Constant Contact or Wordpress experience is a plus
• Preference will be given to college juniors and seniors and those seeking academic credit

Intern will gain and/or improve upon his or her:

• Understanding and knowledge of public relations and marketing
• Logistical support of special events
• Understanding of inner workings of nonprofit organization
• Knowledge and experience of public relations
• Experience in marketing strategies and marketing plans
• Experience cultivating relationships with the press
• A portfolio of marketing materials and public relations pieces

This position will focus on the marketing and event coordination for a variety of clients. Duties will include drafting press releases and correspondence, coordinating with stakeholders, social media and website marketing, as well as onsite event preparation.
 

  • Hours include weekly scheduled days at the office. Hours can be flexible and may offer working from home.
  • Intern may be included in client meetings when available and appropriate.
  • Dress code is business casual for office days and professional for client meetings and/or events.

 

Necessary Skills:

This position will focus on the strategies of grant writing for a startup non-profit. Duties will include drafting grant applications, sponsorship letters and donation requests, researching grant/sponsorship/donation opportunities, and corresponding with donors/sponsors/foundations/etc.

 

  • Hours include weekly scheduled days at the office. Hours can be flexible and may offer working from home.
  • Intern may be included in client meetings when available and appropriate.
  • Dress code is business casual for office days and professional for client meetings and/or events.
  • As a 501©(3) non-profit organization, this can qualify for volunteer hours or internship credit

Mercato – Naples, Florida

 

Madison Marquette (www.madisonmarquette.com), a Washington D.C.-based developer and manager of retail properties, is seeking a marketing intern for the Mercato (www.mercatoshops.com) in Naples.

 

The marketing intern will be based onsite and report to the Marketing Director.

 

During the semester-long program, interns may expect to learn the following:

  • Application of theoretical marketing practices in real-world settings.

  • Planning and implementing media campaigns.
  • Event planning, including conceptualization, budget development, execution and analysis from a sales and traffic standpoint.

  • Documenting events through photos and video.
  • Update calendars and website.
  • Write copy for various advertising applications.
  • Crafting and distribution of media releases.
  • Assist with daily errands and maintain marketing inventory.

This is an unpaid, for-credit internship; however exemplary effort will be rewarded. Interns who successfully complete the program will be eligible for an honorarium. Upon completion of the internship, supervisor will submit necessary paperwork to FGCU so that the intern may receive credit.
