2018 Marketing and Communications Internship – Video Focus
Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS) is a subsidiary of International Speedway Corporation (ISC), a world leader in Motorsports Entertainment. ISC owns and operates thirteen premier properties throughout the U.S., along with MRN Radio, Official Radio Network and “The Voice of NASCAR”. HMS hosts one of the world’s largest motorsports events, Ford Championship Weekend, where NASCAR crowns champions in all three of its national series.


HMS is searching for creative and ambitious intern to assist our marketing and communications department focusing on video marketing.


Description:                  


  • Pre-Planning and execution of video & audio production and editing.
  • Aid in the process of exporting and uploading videos to company website, YouTube, FTP sites.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the marketing and communications team including (but not limited to) in-market community events, digital media and media relations initiatives.
  • Assist with production of graphics.
  • Assist with event management during Ford Championship Weekend including Media center and Pre-Race shows.
     


Requirements:


  • Strong communications/media background is preferred
  • Knowledge of video editing and graphic design on Mac OS
  • Familiarity with the following programs and equipment is required:
    • Final Cut Suite
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, etc.)
    • Microsoft Office
    • DSLR cameras
    • Production equipment (microphones, lighting)
  • The ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays if necessary
  • Must be available for community event weekends throughout the year
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to stand for multiple hours a day
  • Photography experience is a plus
     


Desired Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of the automotive and motorsports industries are a plus.
  • Ideal candidate will be professional, timely, organized, detail orientated, dependable, hard-working and willing to learn.
  • Spanish-speaking a plus.
     


Schedule & Paid:


  • Approximately 30-40 hours a week, excluding major event weekends.
  • Approximate Internship Start Date/ End Date:  August 6 to November 30
  • Paid Internship

Description:


  • Assist the marketing and communications team with extensive activities including (but not limited to) in-market promotions, advertising, media promotions, ticket sales, event marketing, grassroots marketing, digital media, community relations, youth marketing and creative.
  • Assist the Communications team with press releases, driver in-market events and other various communications projects.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives including the Ford Championship Weekend Pre-Race shows.
  • Assist with event management during Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway with media in Media Center.
     


Requirements:


  • The ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays if necessary
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Mac OS
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Must be available for community event weekends throughout the duration of the internship
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to stand for multiple hours a day
     


Desired Qualifications:


  • Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Sports Administration or Sports Management majors are preferred. 
  • Journalism: excellent writing skills; familiarity with AP Style (will be expected to author/assist with feature stories, press releases, website content and sales brochures)
  • Knowledge of the automotive and motorsports industries are a plus.
  • Bilingual candidate a plus.
  • Ideal candidate will be professional, timely, organized, detail orientated, dependable, hard-working and willing to learn.

FGCU Theatre Program Seeks PR/Marketing/Communication Internship


A POSITION IS OPEN IN THEATRE ARTS.



The FGCU Theatre Program is looking for a work study student who is a self starter, motivated and mature individual to  manage our social network platforms- Twitter, Instagram, pinterest, vine, facebook, snapchat, etc. This person would need to be available to photograph or interphase with other students who photograph: play rehearsals, performances, events, etc. for the purpose of  promoting FGCU’s Theatre arts program. Our aim is to create visibility, increase enrollment and retention and begin the groundwork for a development plan. Students applying for this position should be team players with leadership qualities who have an affinity and skill in digital marketing. There will be a few small data entry projects throughout the school year, as well. Knowledge of Excel is essential.

Communications/Public Relations Internship 2018/2019



Job Description


Intern will be working directly with the publisher of a series of super-fun family-oriented local

guidebooks.


This internship covers 135 hours with the opportunity to add hours for more credit as needed.

The schedule is flexible to accommodate the intern’s class/work schedule.


PRESS RELEASES AND PUBLICITY

Help write and distribute news releases and press kits. Maintain updated media contact lists.


MARKETING

Visit bookstores, children’s stores and gift shops to show books and deliver orders in Fort Myers,

on Sanibel and Captiva and Fort Myers Beach.


EVENTS

Help create and assemble materials and props for book signings and special events, and

participate in events.


BOOK RESEARCH AND COPY EDITING

Help update existing book and research next book, primarily via websites.


ADMINISTRATIVE

Prep books for distribution and perform miscellaneous clerical duties.


SOCIAL MEDIA

Assist with postings to Twitter and Facebook.


Internship Details


This is an unpaid position, but a successful internship will result in the intern’s name appearing on

the credits page of the book in progress. Mileage will be reimbursed for assigned store or research

visits, special events and company business.


Intern must bring his/her own laptop for work in the office and have reliable Internet access when

working remotely. This internship involves driving, and the cost of mileage is reimbursed.


Required skills


*Impeccable spelling, grammar and attention to detail.

*Confident in-person communication skills and a desire to work with the public.

*Must have been a child at one time and remember how outrageously fun it can be.

and photographer who is the author/photographer of 12 destination travel books.
